This workshop is based on ongoing research collaboration between the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science in the Faculty of Science & Technology and the Department of Environmental Geo-informatics in the Faculty of Technology & Environment at Prince of Songkla University. In four 90-minute sessions, participants will use freely available software on computers and thus learn about scientific methods for displaying and analysing remote sensing data on land surface temperatures and vegetation indices freely available from polar-orbiting NASA satellites. The workshop is hosted by the Department of Statistics at Chiang Mai University and supported by the National Astonomical Research Institute for Thailand, and will feature leading climate and remote sensing scientist Professor Alfredo Huete.
